Stainless Steel Hand Pumps

A manufacturer of coolant filtration equipment used on marine oil-drilling platforms was experiencing salt contamination of hydraulic fluid via a vented reservoir on commercially available hand pumps. Corrosion was also a problem on both on and off-shore rigs as well as excessive noise due to handle vibration.

Hydratech responded to the need with an all-stainless pump with an oversize non-vented reservoir. Overfilling was prevented by using a fill stand pipe. Heavy duty linkages and latching spring eliminated vibration of the handle. Weld construction was used wherever possible to reduce machining costs with the result that the pump was available at only a modest premium over standard pumps.
